What this site collects

Not much, and nothing is sold. Here’s all of it, in plain terms.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

I use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages and pieces people look at, how they found the site, roughly where they are (city and country), and what kind of device and browser they use. It also records some things you do here: viewing a piece, adding something to your cart, opening a video, scrolling to the bottom of a page, clicking a link that leaves the site, and starting to fill in a form (which form — never what you type).

Google Analytics stores cookies in your browser to tell visits apart, and the data is held by Google. It doesn’t identify you by name, and I don’t use it for advertising. Google deletes the visit-by-visit detail after 14 months; overall totals, like how often a page was viewed, are kept.

To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a content blocker, or on a computer, install Google’s opt-out add-on. How Google handles this data is in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Videos (YouTube)

Some drone shots have a time-lapse or a clip. Pressing “Watch it move” or “Watch the moment” plays a short silent loop of it, served by this site like the photos. A piece without a loop plays its video in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player instead, but only once you ask for it: by pressing the button, or by opening a link that goes straight to it (like a QR code on a print’s card). Until then, the page doesn’t contact YouTube at all, and the “on YouTube” link under a loop simply opens youtube.com.

If YouTube’s player loads, YouTube may store information in your browser and receives your IP address, under Google’s privacy policy. Videos watched in that player aren’t used to personalize your YouTube experience or the ads you see.

Your cart

Your cart is saved in your own browser, so it’s still there when you come back. The saved cart itself is never sent anywhere; Google Analytics is only told when you add something (which piece, size and price), as above. The checkout isn’t taking orders yet: nothing typed into it is sent anywhere.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Google’s Firebase Hosting, which handles the ordinary information any website receives — your IP address and browser — to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.
